laurel aitken wird so gennant, da ein plattenchef ihm mal diesen titel überreicht hat. zu recht!
er is bereits 75 jahre alt und tourt immernoch durch die ganze welt...
wurde zwar in kuba geboren-emigrierte aber bald nach jamaika. dort riesen erfolg: "Little Sheila/Boogie In My Bones" elf wochen auf platz eins der jamaikanischen charts!! (1960 umzug nach GB)
als sich in den 60er jahren der ska verlangsamt, geht auch laurel aitken...reggae....

Dieser Satz stimmt (leider) nicht (mehr). Erstens, ist Laurel inziwschen 77 Jahre alt, aber das ist das kleinere Übel. Das größere ist nämlich, dass Laurel zur Zeit nicht mehr durch die ganze Welt tourt, weil es ihm sein Arzt auf Grund einer ernsthaften Krankheit (er war erst neulich im Krankenhaus) verboten hat. Es ist fraglich, ob er jemals wieder aufreten wird.
